The types of missions spies go on can vary dramatically. It's why they have to be so highly trained in so many things, or be comprised of a team of strong specialists each filling a niche. Therefore, it should be possible to take nearly any adventure module for any published role playing game and turn it into a spy mission. To illustrate this, I'll do one.
...reskinned for a spy adventure!
Original Plot Summary:
The module begins with a prologue explaining that giants of different types have been raiding lands occupied by humans. Angered by this, the human rulers hire a group of adventurers (the player characters) to "punish the miscreant giants." The players' party is informed that they must defeat the giants, or have their heads placed on the chopping block. The human nobles equip the party with weapons and horses, along with a guide and a map that shows the location of the hill giants. The players are informed that the hill giants are led by Nosnra, a sly hill giant chieftain who loves to set up ambushes; there is an unknown force binding together different giant groups. The player characters are informed that they may keep any spoils they find, but must return at once if they determine what "sinister hand" is behind the alliance.
Re-skinned for Spies:
The mission begins with a briefing about an organization known as GIANTs (GI's Against National Treasures), a domestic terrorist group comprised of disavowed special forces and other disgruntled veterans who felt abandoned or mistreated during or after returning from foreign conflicts. They target national monuments and documents espousing the greatness of America. They have been raiding small towns in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, and New York and destroying various national treasures on display in court houses, museums, and town centers. The agents are given satellite photos of the location of the GIANTs training camp in the mountains of West Virginia. They are informed that the head of the GIANTs is someone named Captain Nosnra, who claims to be ex army intelligence (unconfirmed). The agents are warned that an FBI group tried to infiltrate the region and found many booby traps which killed half their force and they had to retreat. The are further warned that GIANTs employ a wide array of very modern weapons and high tech armor, and this indicates they have deeper funding by some larger organization, who is likely pulling the strings. The agent's primary objective is to infiltrate the organization, gather intel on GIANTs, determine what sinister hand is behind their movement, then report back to HQ for further orders.
Okay now someone do G2: Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl
Nobody wants to tackle G2?
Hang on NaNoWriMo still has a week left.

G2: Glacial Rift of the Frost Giant Jarl
...reskinned for a spy adventure!
Original Plot Summary:
The module begins with a prologue explaining that giants of different types have been raiding lands occupied by humans. Angered by this, the human rulers hire a group of adventurers (the player characters) to "punish the miscreant giants." The players' party has destroyed the Hill Giants but now must continue the mission and destroy the Frost Giants who were also part of the raiding parties against human settlements. The party brought back a map and showed it to the human nobles who equiped the party with weapons and horses. The map has informed the party that the Frost Giants are led by one known only as the Jarl, a sly Frost Giant noble who is extremely clever and talented military leader. There is still an unknown force binding together different giant groups. The player characters are informed that they may keep any spoils they find, but must return at once if they determine what "sinister hand" is behind the alliance.
Re-skinned for Spies:
The mission begins after the group has neutralized the GIANTs (GI's Against National Treasures), base in West Virginia. They have either managed to maintain their undercover identities and still accepted by the GIANTs or because of their previous work on and familiarity with this case are told the mission has not ended. Intelligence they found at the West Virginia base has lead their agency to discover another base located in Siberia at a former Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti base (better known in the West as the KGB). This group is performing similar acts to what the US GIANTs group was doing and is led by someone named the Jarl. Possibly a descendent of the Swedish Viking Nobility who at one time had many dealings with the Russians. The agents are warned that the Russian Government will not be informed on the group’s presence and their actions will be disavowed.. They are further warned that like the West Virginia GIANTs, this group also employs a wide array of very modern weapons and high tech armor. The agent's primary objective is to infiltrate the organization, gather additional intel on GIANTs, determine what sinister hand is behind their movement, then report back to HQ for further orders.
awesome! It's funny how when you boil down the plots of these two old school adventures, they're basically the same story haha... you did a great job! I like how you placed it in Siberia. Maybe the "sinister hand" behind GIANT is actually the K-G-used-to-B, still operational but now privately funded!
Anyone wanna take a whack at G3 Hall of the Fire Giant King ?
Will give someone else a chance to write it up before I go tropical island. Although I would include a link with the Ogre Magi from G2.
