Very excited about this. I've applied to have my group playtest but, whether my application is accepted or not, I'm still excited that FS development is still progressing.
A couple of question for DwD - how long do you expect the playtest period to be and when are you hoping to actually publish the game?
We're excited too. I'm meeting with Larry today to discuss the product schedule, and will update you early tomorrow in a post here. I believe we're going to be play-testing until at least June 2017, but I'll give more specifics tomorrow after we discuss.
Okay we finally have a formalized full production schedule, tentative until we know more but conservatively arranged for worst case.

Check it out!
Fantastic! I can Hardly wait!!

I really like the way you have formalized the production schedule. I wish more game companies conducted their business in this manner; it really helps engage the fans and supporters.
Thanks! It's the first time we've ever done that. We're a little nervous about sharing it, but we're being transparent about things. If things bump the schedule at least we'll be able to say why. That also might make some artists afraid to take on the project because it will become known if they're behind, affecting their reputation...
Hope to be chosen, but I received an email saying that I do not have an account here. I guess I am invisible.....
I found ya! Your registration just had that field left blank, that's all. No worries - We're just gonna let everyone of ya playtest. Too hard to choose. :-) You'll all receive instructions on Monday... by email, stay tuned!
How can we get the playtest system, to study and prepare?
Monday we're going to send out instructions via email. It will include how you will be able to get to the PDF downloads, how/where we would like feedback, and some initial marching orders to get you all started. We're giving enough time for all folks to provide feedback and to get their usernames/profiles set up here on the site. Also working on watermarking the PDFs with playtest version numbers, building the private/playtester parts of the site, etc. Takes a little time. Check out the schedule: http://dwdstudios.com/fs_playtest/schedule -- you'll see we're right on schedule, official playtest begins Monday the 23rd! woooohoooo!
Got the files. Getting ready to port my Ad Astra! campaign to it. I will post my conversions as soon as I make them.
Alright - sounds okay to me. Part of the playtest should include being able to approximate other settings. So yours will be a good test. However, I humbly ask that as you adapt your setting you give consideration to not altering our rules to fit your setting. I know you could do that in a game you buy, but that wouldn't help us test the game as it is, right?
Not a problem. I will accommodate your rules. I am in the process of converting my races to FS format (I made three core races plus Humans as well) and I will be posting them when they are finished.
I was just invited to join a playtest at my local game store (Gateway Games near Cincinnati, OH). I don't have any info on the game, but I was wondering if I can play a robot or android character?
Yup. "Robot" is one of the "Species" you can choose. Yes, I know it's not a species, but mechanically it works that way :-P
There are two options, based on what you want to play and what the Referee will permit in his campaign: "Just a Robot" or "Unique Artificial Intelligence."
I don't know who is running the game for you, but I hope he's someone associated with the playtest :-)
Excited to hear your thoughts!
