New Initiative System Idea
After playing some Barbarians of Lemuria based games, I see a real value in using an initiative system where a team of covert ops characters can actually act as a team.
The idea here is at the beginning of a round, players roll for initiative. Those that get the same results (i.e. successful) can decide who goes first, allowing suppressive fire, grenade-toss-and-then-rush options etc.
New Player Derived Stat Init
Init = DEX, + 10 if LOG > 65
Adversaries use Init as a penalty to the player rolls.
Minor NPC = 0
All Others = 10, +10 if DEX 65 or higher, +10 if LOG 65 or higher (So a big bad with 65 DEX and 65 LOG produces a -30 penalty to the player Init roll).
Player Initiative Roll Results
Critical Success = Go before adversaries plus 1 free action
Success = Go Before all adversaries
Failure = Go after adversaries except minor NPCs
Critical Failure = go after minor NPCs
