Curious what the future holds for BBF. I know there has been some talk of a new edition and you guys have been concentrating on White Lies, but things have seemed to stop for BBF. No bestiary, and no new KK info, adventures, etc.
Is BBF back burnered for the time being?
BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
Not back-burnered... but the truth is we're only a few guys with day jobs trying our hardest to put all our free time into game development. Occasionally we get visited by a muse and go on a tangent from our d00-system product line and develop board games and other role playing material (as many of you have noticed, with our support of the non-fantasy-OSR movement of late). But our primary focus is on our d00-system products.
Larry has been working on the Bestiary and on the free webzine we infrequently put out (Decahedron), and we have a few adventures in the works for BBF and CO. Also, some side conversation has occurred regarding the further development of a second edition for BBF (as well as CO) where we take all the awesome feedback we've received and develop the d00-system further, though we have nothing concrete to share at the moment. The evolution of the d00-system is important to us as we also continue development of FrontierSpace.
Since we're only a few guys, as we focus on larger projects like the Bestiary or a new edition of a game, it tends to seem like little activity is occurring. Also, since we put out so many things, while we focus on what makes one group of fans happy we seem to upset another by our silence with their preferred product. That's unfortunate but fact. If we were a larger company we'd be able to develop more stuff faster... but we're not back-burnering anything. I assure you we're all busy all the time working on stuff!
We're waiting patiently. Work calmly, we're not as old not to wait a bit. BTW - I understand ShadowStalker a little. You got our blessing, customers' blessing :)
Not upset, just curious given time that has passed.lot of excitement that was there for this game two years ago is lost, and it's just a shame for your great game.
Glad to hear it is still in motion, even a little at a time. I'm as excited to see Frontier Space as the next few things, whatever they may be, of BBF. More fun with Giants would be cool, but I guess I have to go look at what is already there. Time to use some spare college funding and grab those modules. I still lok forward to playing the game at some time with folks who are into it.
If anyone would like to GM and needs online players, drop me a line. Or, if you want me to GM, just drop me a line and attach a self-addresses stamped envelope to ''w00t'', send via Dove Rune Scroll. We can chat, roll some dice have fun.
