I am new to the game and I have to say I am very happy with this rules lite system. I wanted to ask since it seems to have been a hot topic for a bit but I can't find much updated info, what happened to the bestiary?
Thanks and congrats on a nice simple but fun game. I am running it next weekend for my sons and their friends!
BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
There has been some significant work, however it's not very prevalent on this site. We tend to do most of our posting on social-media, if you look this the DwD community or my stream you'll see some of the layout an art.
It's a huge project and very time consuming :)
No date for release but we are chipping away at it.

What about Bestiary? When should we expect releasing it?
Due to the enormity of this project we decided to break it up into sections. The first book will be titled Undead. Here are a couple working covers, "Undead" and "Composite Creatures". We expect the Undead book to be ready this April, (still waiting on artwork, layout, tables and a mini-adventure).
By the way, Bill and I decided to fund artwork rather than use sillouttee's, we hope you enjoy. :D

Thx, love these pics :) So I'll wait patiently.
My lovely DWD writers and creators - when shall we see the long expected Bestiary?
Pour a little honey on our wounds ;) So - when?
Take a look at creating creatures at the beginning of the monster section on page 46. Also take a look at all the creatures of a specific rank. You'll find they vary quite a bit but after doing such a survey you should have a better idea of what you want to create. Also think about how many you want to have appearing. I found in extended play that most BBF creatures were much too weak to face a party of 5 without out being several ranks higher. But then you can also have some swing into the way too tough range pretty easily.
First, make sure they have enough BP for how long you would like them to last. I found the BP to be just too small for most rank 1-4 creatures for a party of 4-5 adventurers. Also, through play you'll get a good handle on how many creatures of a given rank you can through at your group at once. Your players will quickly learn to "bleed" off creature actions by making the monsters defend (make resistance checks). Just taking the hits with higher BP allows the monster to get some wacks in too.
These are just things that I found worked for me and my players.
Sorry, I don't have a formula.
It depends on the beast. For example, Ogres are much to week for my tastes. I want my ogres to be more fierce to rank 2 and 3 characters. So I change them to fit my gaming style.
I'd leave them alone if I was doing pick-up games. But with experienced players I have to up the ante quite often. Your mileage may vary.
ESTIMATED DELIEVERY TO DTRPG?
I've discovered the Bestiary on this page, and used some of the creatures:

Has there ever been any thought to put these entries into a PDF?

It wouldn't be difficult to do. I could put a simple one together but I'm not sure if the guys at DwD really want that.
Thanks Hellbrandt, for the link and the trip down memory lane :)
Shall we see the Bestiary in this century???
