Saw this the other day - http: //dwdstudios.com/node/3793
Must have the solo play - perfect for the little time I have, but I also see this as an avenue to play with the kids, rather than GM'ing for them
BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
hmm...I can't get to that page.
Ah, I can get to it by clicking on the mid-april news link.
I have lots of ideas and I think the end product is going to be awesome. Ben and Bill are helping :)
I'll try to post more after AnCon.

Excellent! Let me know if you need help.
This sounds really interesting. I always loved Warhamemr Quest for a Solo RPG like experience with their random travel and town events.
I could attempt to keep this post updated with some news.:)
Ben and I are about 90% done with the crafting portion of the game. What is that? Basically it's a system where the player can train one of 8 crafting skills to make things for their hero (the game calls the player-character a hero). As you quest you gather mats (much like drops in an MMO), save them and see what you can make in the Book of Crafting. If you're an enchanter, take a peak in the Book of Magic to determine what special ingredients you need to craft magical objects. For instance, a Staff of Light requires the horn of a minotar. If you encounter one in an adventure and you have at least one level in enchanter, you are able to gather the special ingredient and with a few components and a lucky skill check you could be the proud owner of the staff.
Of course, crafting is for everyone. It's there if you want better gears than the vendors in Bristol sell. Bristol? Yep, your hero was shipwrecked near Bristol. It's the place you'll launch your adventure from. Beware, your an outsider and may not have the reputation with the faction you'd like to quest for. No worries, you can build rep by helping people.
Sounds like great fun.
Also sounds good for pulling out if only one of your players turns up to a role-playing session. You mentioned playing it with your kids; so you can play co-op, right..? Or not..?
Strangely enough, I'm fairly close to the Bristol here in the UK, pretty adventurous place, it must be said! Full of derring do. And vendors. (RPG and comic shops count, right?) Not sure my rep's very good there yet though... :)
LOL!
Its a solo or co-op game. In fact, you can control 1 or more hero having an entire adventuring company at your disposal.
Sounds good! I'm all for packaging up that 'RPG experience' into something you can throw down on the table, play once and then shove back in the cupboard until the next time you fancy playing it. I'll be keeping an eye out for that... (Erm, along with everything else you do, of course..) :)
