THAT is priceless! :D
I thought someone was having it on at Larry's expense. But now I know, it's his cat come calling! :P
Really, though, Larry called me to let me know that he's okay. He got scared from all the pressure of having a good job and a successful new game company and a happy family. So he went to Billings, MT to open a lunch wagon in front of the Army Reserve center on Gabel Rd. because he wants to 'serve his country'. The reason why he needed to go to Montana to do that is still a little fuzzy. I'm not sure he understands that part. I went there to try to convince him to go back to his family, but then he demanded I try one of his "world famous" chili sausage dogs, and frankly, I forgot what I was doing there. Before I knew it, I was home again. There was something about a stripper in a clown costume in an old church. It's all kind of a blur, but I think he spiked the marinade.
Well, if you want to talk to him, you know where to find him.

Sweet! I love a good chili dawg! I am firmly convinced that a tequila lime chicken chili dawg would be something akin to heaven and might cause a temporal fold in the fabric of space and time.

Oh boy.
Okay - I finally got a hold of Larry. He is indeed okay. I didn't get too many details out of him, but he does indeed have some day-job and domestic stress going on. I didn't pry, but let him know I'm there for him. I eagerly look forward to his return. DwD Studios isn't the same without him!

LOL Well, I didn't make Tequila Lime Chicken Chili Dogs, but I did marinade some chicken breasts in a new Lime Vinaigrette I found. Newman's makes it, and about half a bottle in around 4 pounds of chicken strips, marinade 24-36 hours, then just dump the whole thing in a Pyrex and bake at 350 for around an hour. Tender, juicy, delicious. Made just about the best mock fajitas I've ever made. I highly recommend it. Saute some Bells and Onions, throw in some Pico and/or Guacamole. Match made in heaven.

I'll have to try that-I normally just soak mine in a shallow bowl of tawny Port for 2 hours before grilling, baking or steaming.
It works fantastic in Cuban Black Beans too, either with pork or the vegetarian option...most recipes call for a mix of white and brown sugars for sweetness and several cups of white wine, but a substitution of half that amount of tawny Port and i've got flavor to spare and 'free' sweetener.
Not too bad in coffee either. If you want the flavor minus the alcohol, slip in 3 spoonfuls in the water before brewing-most of the booze will 'cook off' and three spoons per 7 or 8 cups is plenty noticeable.
Rats-now it's 2:00 AM and I want coffee...time for bed, so water it is. :(

Good. You didn't fall for the chili sausage dog. I guess you know him better than I do. But I really should get that recipe from him.
"Tequila Lime Chicken Chili Dog"....
I'm headed to the Grocery store this very hour! If you never hear from me again, just assume a rolled a 99 in the kitchen tonight...
Glad to hear Larry's all right BTW.

I LOVE tawny port. What a great idea!
