So, when can we expect Decahedron #2. The first was chock-full of awesome sauce, I naturally want more!
Also, when you get enough of these out, do you think we could see a hard-copy Collected Decahedron Magazine? I'd grab that in a heart-beat.
BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
Soon... the postman has been missing since the attack of hobgoblins last week. We'll do a hardcover after a few issues I'm sure. Not sure what a good number is...
Seems like annuals would be appropriate and still control costs.
Hardcover? Interesting. I'd be perfectly happy with a softcover. Isn't hardcover a bit taxing on the pocketbook overall? There's a $5 difference between the HC and SC of Barebones. I think for a magazine, people are generally going to want to pay as little as they need to.
For things like this, hard cover stands up better on a shelf.
The softcover is actually pretty sturdy. It's not like magazine.
Unless i'm mistaken, I think Larry might have meant hard-copy instead hard-cover...or maybe not.
I ment what I says and says what I ments!
Hardcover - I love mine and can't live without it. HC's will last longer and think of it, having 2-3 years worth of the mag on your self?
I'm sure we'll offer a soft and hard option, won't be a problem.
Wouldn't you have to go through the weeks of publication review for each one?
I'm new here, but this is the latest post I've found mentioning Decahedron Magazine's status. I read elsewhere that the Effects Factory (the rules to help create monsters) was planned to be released in Decahedron.
Any update on releasing the Effects Factory (sorry if I'm getting the name wrong), or further issues of Decahedron? I'd love to see both.
Sorry RNolan you haven't gotten a reply yet. I hope to hear the answer to these good questions soon myself. And welcome to BBF! I hope you are having fun!
Thanks! I'm enjoying BareBones Fantasy, and I understand how it is. I'm patient!
Sorry - We really wanted to make Decahedron a regular zine, at least one every other month. But our staff was reduced due to some personal family issues from one of our members, and I am doing a poor job of keeping up with everything myself (though I'm trying). He was the lead designer on BareBones Fantasy project, and he should be back to producing content soon (he's slowly getting back to work). He has 1 adventure module for publication first (prior promise), then he's planning to work on Decahedron #2.
Thank you for the update Bill! I and I hope I speak for others really really appreciate you keeping the lights on! Not only that, you've been cranking out great product! HERE HERE!
I'm sorry to hear about the family issues! I can understand those priorities, I've been through similar situations myself.
Family always has to come first since it is an integral part of that dangerous encounter we all know as 'Real Life'. I hope that everything works out fast for everyone involved!

Hey all,
Just wanted to let you know #2 is in layout and ready, I just need to write the Forward. I have enough content for #3, however for #4 we'll need some more content. Remember the webzine is 10 pages, so keep your articles fairly short.
Some ideas: Categorical spell, new magical objects, gear, or even if someone has talent with a webcomic, perhaps we could brainstorm a d00 style of humor. :)
Good to be back and thanks for all your emails and patience. Special thanks to Bill, my BFF (BareBones Friend Forever).

Nice to see you back. Looking forward to what's next.
Hey Larry,
I just wanted you to know it's really good to have you back:-)
Welcome back, Larry!
It's nice to see you back, Larry.
BTW, I found an errata on Issue 2. Some entries in the critical strikes table have the numbering wrong (30-30, 53-65, 54-57 and 60-52).
GRR! We'll fix it...
Just a suggestion. Color draws attention. Splashes sell:
Should this inspire you to do something like this, basic advice is that the logo color should be inverted (approximately,) to the dominant image color (play it by eye,) and the splash color should match the same intensity as the image's color intensity. The splashes should indicate the features in the articles more than the name, unless the name is more interesting.
Wonderful job, guys!!! Well worth the wait! Oh and welcome back!

Thanks for the feedback, we'll take that under consideration. We don't claim to be artists, so we value the opinions of them :-)
My apologies for necrobumping this thread, but... has the errata on the critical strikes tables of Decahedron #2 been fixed?
