Taking a deep dive into rules lite RPGs and BareBones so far takes the proverbial cake, but,
the disadvantages seem to conflict with the basic attack and defend rules.
Example #1. I am unarmed and attacked by an enemy with a weapon. In the combat rules I would be able to defend with my full DEX (say 50), but since I am considered at a disadvantage I am told to halve my DEX. Yes/No? I can understand the logic (Foe has 3 feet of steel...) What if I just dodge?
Example #2. I am attacked by two foes. Since I am considered at a disadvantage(2:1), do I halve my weapon skill (50% sword) down to 25% for the duration of combat or until I can get back to one on one? I am going to assume that if I am at 25%, any second action(-20) will give me only a 5% chance to succeed if I take it. Or, it does not affect Weapon skill and only affects DEX skill for the purpose of defense?
Combat example: Attacked by two foes. I have 50% weapon and 50 DEX. I attack first with full 50%. I attempt to defend for second action (-20). Due to disadvantage, I would halve my DEX of 50 to 25 and then subtract an additional (-20) for second action, for a final total of 5% for second action.
Whew!
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!
