So I have a minor NPC:
60% Bandit (longsword, dagger)
3rd level Spellcaster throws Offensive strike at above bandit.
Bandit's resistance roll?
60% - 30% (for spellcaster level)= 30? chance to resist?
Or do you half the 60% off the bat as this is a task roll unrelated to being a bandit and with the further -30% for the 3 levels in spellcaster there would be no chance the bandit could resist?
Other?
Been thinking about all this stuff so much I'm coming back to basic questions.
Does a minor NPC use that one stat for everything? Half it for Ability rolls? I'm just over thinking things?

Caster level = ability to "aim" the spell
Bandit NPC = assumption he's good at physical stuff but not mental stuff. So, you can assume STR/DEX 60, and I usually use half for LOG/WIL 30.
There is always a 5% chance of automatic success
IMO, if you want your minor npc's to survive against a lvl 3 caster, use more minion's :D
That makes sense. Apply the same logic to all rolls including resistance rolls. Thank you!
