A complete newbie posting his first question.
I'm confused by the Leader's Assault ability.
Is it only of use in large scale operations (not in a typical party fighting a small group of orcs)? [it does not seem likely that assault would help players to attack a bunch of orces, unless the orcs were in some sort of defensive position]
Is the effect left entirely to the GM?

BareBones Fantasy RPG is not associated with Skaldcrow Games' Bare Bones Multiverse, despite similar names. Check out Glenn's products by clicking here.
Assault - find weaknesses in enemy defenses such as a missing scale exposing soft flesh, unarmored area on an opponent, troop deployments that lack shields, fragile bricks in a castle wall, etc.
SO THIS WORKS FOR BOTH THE INDIVIDUAL (UNARMORED AREA ON AN OPPONENT)
TO A LARGE BAND (TROOP DEPLOYMENTS THAT LACK SHIELDS) TO EVEN THINGS (FRAGILE BRICKS IN A CASTLE WALL.
One of the best skills there is (besides spellcaster)
And yes the effect is left to the GM since it does not list it. I would rule +5% to attack or a plus 1 damage per level or a plus one for everyone involved.

Nightstorm is correct (how have you been using this in your games?)
Remember, if a character makes his Battle Commander > Assualt skill check, there my be no weakness to discover. He's trying to assess the situation, "I don't see anything we can take advantage of, maybe if we see them fight for a few rounds I'll be able to pick something up."
Sometimes it's fun to make something up on the fly. For instance, after making a successful Leader skill check the GM tells the player, "The obese ogre stands up from the makeshift throne and takes a step forward with this right foot, his left foot simply drags as-if it's trying to keep up. Assessing the situation you believe attacking on the left side would be a mistake, he has a very strong right leg allowing him to bring a blow full force. However attacking from the right side would prove beneficial, he would be at a disadvantage when dodging dodge."
Neat option Nightstorm.
Thank you for your feedback, Nightstorm & Larry. Much appreciated.
