The rules say that if you are resisting an ongoing effect, if you fail your roll you can try again on your next turn.
So you cannot take multiple action penalties to try and resist ongoing effects again in the same turn. Is that correct?
Correct, according to the rule as written.
Thanks Jack!

Next week DwD will publish issue 1 of Decahedron Magazine. I'm really excited. When we first conceived it several months ago I had no idea there would be fan submissions so quickly, let alone three. I'm blown away!
Hey friends,
I updated the Player Aid download tonight to reflect the changes we made to the core game.
The core game .zip should be updated tomorrow on RPGNow. I'll make an announcement as soon as it's ready.

Is initiative rolled only once at the start of the encounter or is it rolled every round? That is once every player and NPC has taken their turn and it has gone back round they roll initiative again. The manual doesn't seem to explicitly state this but hints that it should work like this.
It says that multiple actions are cumulative adding -20 -40 and so on. These penalties must happen within 1 round and once the round is over these penalties are reset to zero until the characters accumulate more actions within the round. Is my understanding of this correct?
Initiative is rolled at the beginning of each turn in combat.
Multiple Actions - Each action taken after the first (in the same turn) results in a cumulative -20 to skill and ability checks. At the start of a new turn, all Actions begin at 0.
Which spells are NOT covered by the Barebones Spells?
Though there are a few things you can't do implicitly without some GM fiat, we believe the spell list as given in the core book covers a wide list of D&D spells. Further spells will be published in Decahedron, so keep an eye out for it!
We just released the BBF Player Aid. Check out the Downloads section and enjoy!
